Dr. Michael WhiteAssociate
Ph.D.

Michael received his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Ottawa in 1992. He was trained in the comprehensive delivery of adult and children’s mental health interventions including assessment and counselling services.

After his studies, Michael worked as the senior clinician and clinical supervisor for a counselling agency in Northern Ontario. His areas of specialization are individual adult therapy and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, stress management, and grief and bereavement. In 1993, Michael obtained his certificate in Advanced Training in Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (Mitchell method). He has functioned as our stress management and Post Traumatic Stress consultant. He has worked in this capacity with a number of organizations including INCO and Falconbridge Mines. Michael is a member of the Ontario Psychological Association, the Canadian Psychological Association, and the American Psychological Association. He has appeared weekly on CBC Radio’s French language morning show, and lectures regularly at Laurentian University. Michael is fluently bilingual.
